What are chakras, and why you should be paying attention to them if you want to be successful in your business.

Chakras are energy centers in your body. While there are hundreds of chakras in your auric field, in this article we’re going to focus on the ones that are most important when it comes to business success, why they’re important, how to recognize if a chakra imbalance is hindering your success and what to do to get your chakras back into balance so you can reach your goals.

Your main seven chakras are condensed balls of energy that follow your spinal column from the base of your spine and going all the way up to the top of your head.

Energy, simply put, is moving information. Chakras are the portals through which energy moves in and out of your body and its function is to translate the information that is moving through it. It might help to think of your chakras as translators, as if the information in the world outside of you is in Spanish and the information inside of your body is in English. Assuming you’re not bilingual, you’ll need a translator in order to understand the information being presented. That’s what chakras do, they translate information so that you know how to respond to the world around you, via your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, reflexes, etc.

Your chakras will let you know you’re “off your path” but it’s up to you to recognize the signals and make the changes necessary to get back into alignment

If the flow is open, the information flows freely and we are prepared to act in a way that serves our best interest and keeps us healthy. If the flow of energy gets blocked, however, it stagnates and starts to create toxicity in our bodies in the form of negative thoughts, feelings and physical manifestations. Imagine a flowing river that gets blocked and stops flowing. When that happens, it turns into a swamp—moldy, nasty, diseased and stinky. Well, the same thing happens in our body. And when one chakra gets blocked, it’s not uncommon for other chakras to get blocked as well. The chain reaction wreaks havoc on our mindset (negative thinking, self-doubt, worry), our emotions (depression, frustration, jealousy, anger, fear) and our bodies (aches, pains and disease).

On the other hand, when our chakras are open and flowing, we have the mental capacity to perform business tasks at an optimum level. We are enthusiastic and confident, we give and receive love openly and we are optimistic about the future. We feel emotionally capable and ready to take on all of the action steps required to reach our business goals, including stepping outside our comfort zone, feeling confident in our abilities and taking on new projects with faith and courage. And when we are physically able to rise to the challenges of business without stress and anxiety and we wake up each day full of energy, passion and vitality, reaching our goals is fun and easy.

How to tell if your chakras are blocked or imbalanced

Blocked (not open) or imbalanced (too open or partially blocked) chakras will give you lots of signals or red flags to warn you that something is wrong. Which basically means, you’re letting negative thoughts and feelings distract you from who you are and what you’re here on this earth to do. You’re getting pulled away from your higher self. Your chakras will let you know you’re “off your path” but it’s up to you to recognize the signals and make the changes necessary to get back into alignment with your higher self and back on your correct path.

A few signs that your chakras are blocked or imbalanced are that you’re feeling:

  • Stressed – you have a hard time relaxing or being in the present moment.
  • Worried all the time—you can’t seem to shut your mind off and may even be losing sleep.
  • Anxiety – you’re heart beats fast all day long, you’re always racing the clock and you’re nervous about what the future holds.
  • Unmotivated – you’re just going through the motions, without any real passion or drive.
  • Depressed – you are losing hope and starting to feel like your situation may never change.
  • Overwhelmed – no matter how much you try to manage your time, you can’t seem to get ahead.
  • Frustrated – you aren’t making the progress that you want to make in your business.
  • Doubtful –  you are questioning your abilities to reach the goals you set for yourself.

When these feelings are present, your mindset will start to become affected too. You may start to think, “Am I really good at this? Am I capable?I probably shouldn’t do this. I should probably back off. It’s never going to work anyway.” And the more we think those limiting thoughts, the more stressed, anxious, depressed, and sad we become, and then we think even more negative thoughts and the cycle continues until we start to physically show signs of disease. So we want to make sure that we are paying attention to the red flags that notify us when a chakra may be imbalanced before the chaos is out of control.

So if you’re recognizing that your chakras may be blocked, and you’re ready to do something about it, keep reading.

We’re going to break down each chakra, individually, so that you can recognize which one to get back to a state of balance and flow.

Root Chakra

The root chakra is located at the base of your spine and it is your “survival chakra” and it will get blocked when your safety or security is threatened. In today’s world, feeling safe and secure consists of having a roof over your head, enough money to pay the bills and supportive, loving relationships. So if you are worried about money or you are not feeling very connected to the people closest to you, that’s a sign that your root chakra is blocked and needs a little attention.

Sacral Chakra

The sacral chakra is located about an inch below your belly button, and is responsible for keeping you connected to feelings of passion and creativity. If you are not exercising your creative juices or you’re feeling like everything in your business is very monotonous or boring, and there’s no sense of adventure, and you’re not feeling fulfilled or challenged, there is a good chance that your sacral chakra is out of balance.

Solar Plexus Chakra

The solar plexus is located between your belly button and your rib cage, and is responsible for your feelings of self-identity and self-esteem. This is your power center. So if you are feeling small, inadequate, unworthy, or if you feel like an imposter or fear putting yourself out there or letting people down, there’s a good chance that your solar plexus is out of balance.

Heart Chakra

Your heart chakra (something known as your heart center) is located right where your heart is and it represents unconditional love, and the acceptance of, and connection to, yourself and others. If you spend more time finding flaws in yourself than appreciating your uniqueness or if you are judgmental, critical, unaccepting, or resistant to loving yourself or others, or if you feel disconnected from the people around you, there is a good chance that your heart chakra is imbalanced.

Throat Chakra

The throat chakra is located in your throat, and the energy here is one of truth and authenticity. Do you find it difficult to express yourself, share your message, speak up and ask for what you want and need? Do you avoid conversations about things that make you uncomfortable? Do you suppress your opinions to avoid conflict or let others walk all over you? If you feel restricted, repressed or unable to stand up for yourself or what you believe in, there’s a good chance your throat chakra is blocked.

Third Eye Chakra

Your third eye chakra (sometimes referred to as your brow chakra), is located in the center of your forehead. This is your visualization center, the home of your imagination and your intuition. This chakra helps you visualize your future dreams and goals with remarkable clarity which is a big part of business success—after all, you have to be able to visualize where you’re heading if you want to plot out the path to get there!

This chakra also helps you to connect to your sixth sense—the ability that allows you to read between the lines and understand intuitively what isn’t being said. So when you are working with clients and you pick up on their body language, vibe or get the sense that there’s something that they’re not saying out loud that needs to be addressed, you’re using you’re using the energy of your third eye chakra. But if you’re not able to pick up on those subtle energies and you are not able to sense what isn’t being said, or if you are having a hard time visualizing what your future looks like, there’s a good chance your third eye chakra is blocked.

Crown Chakra

Your crown chakra is located just above your head, and this is the chakra that connects you to spirit, God, divine energy, source, your higher self—whatever it is that you believe in. It’s that universal energy, that universal consciousness that connects us all as one. This is the energy that allows us to view different perspectives that are not our own. We come from a lifetime of seeing things through our own eyes, and when our crown chakra is open and the energy is flowing, we have the unique ability to see a situation through the eyes of another and we become more open-minded and unlimited in our ability to solve problems and create innovative solutions. Doing this also helps us to be more accepting of other people’s opinions and ideas and be more optimistic because we see the possibility of desirable solutions. So if you are finding that you are not able to see other people’s perspectives, spend a lot of time considering risks or seeing the glass as half empty or expecting negative outcomes chances are your crown chakra is blocked and could use a little work to open it up and get the energy flowing again
